    Aren’t pockets really just the cupholders of clothing?

    True enough Jreidko, your antics are always thought-provoking. One thing to note however, is that often people use their cupholders to keep things like change, pens & pencils, cellphones (perhaps a newer phenomenon), quick notes, etc. So maybe cupholders are the pockets of automobiles (this is assuming by cupholder you meant the specific instance that they are provided in most motorized transportation).
